Switch off.

I switch off
Because light is loud
Searching, beaming,
Rays and shine.
Let me be
Black. Stark.
The clutching claws of dark
Make home to me.
Don’t turn the lights on,
I don’t wish to be found.

  1. Rene Descartes says ‘I desire to live in peace and to continue the life I have begun under the motto ‘To live well, you must live unseen’!
That said, I’d really like to know if the Narrator’s in line with Rene’s thoughts; or if there’s more….like what is he/she really afraid of? What mystery’s being hidden away and shielded off of from the spotlight? Why does he/she shy away from being found? What’s the big idea?! πŸ˜ˆπŸ˜†

These lines are beautiful Sparkly and very meaningful; especially for folks who are pretty shy! Thumbs up Sweets! πŸ˜„

  2. Thank you Madam Yemie. I like that you get me, almost all the time– through my ramblings and musings, and even on days when I think I am alone with my thoughts.

I love those lines by Rene. And In fact, they are just an echo of what the narrator had in mind. I find that while there’s so much joy in having people around, in being cast/bathed in “light”, people take away the magic in being. And on some days, you just need a minute, alone, to re-discover yourself; find joy in being by yourself. I think it helps us look inward, and appreciate our own essence without necessarily waiting to be told or assured or reminded that we mean something or are beautiful.

I think that people are beautiful, and very essential in our lives; but we must need ourselves more than we need others.

    Thank you! ❀

  3. So true I find these words Sparkly and I say for one who enjoys being by herself, in her own skin; enjoy your Spinsterhood Sweetkinz; cause the minute you’re hitched and the pitty-patter feet of those angelic bambinos can be heard aloud in your quarters….its bye to solitary and lonesomeness…forEver! πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚

    You’re deep Sweets, very! πŸ˜‡β€

    1. Lol! I know, I know. And I am very much looking forward to it. I pray it’s a joyful experience too! But until then, just as you’ve sweetly advised, i’ll rock my spinsterhood as I know best. πŸ˜‰

      Thanks Mami! ❀
