Try.

Try
Although you think you can’t.
Defy your shaking hands
And walk those weak knees
Move, stretch, reach,
Touch, breach,
Just try.

Try,
Although they say you can’t.
They don’t believe in you
But they don’t have to.
Go, do, break, take,
Make- believe, be,
Just try.

Try,
For fear is a lie
Try,
Because you can.
Defy those shaking hands
Take yourself by surprise.
To quell their doubtful thoughts
Try, Is what you must.
So try, and try again.
Try.

  1. The visual form here can’t be mistaken. Plus the clarity of the message, that you must try, dare, to do that thing that you think you cannot do and surprise yourself with your own success. Thank you for this message Me. I can identify with this.

  2. Wahoo! Look at the poet…

Nice lines. .. Nice. I like the way you are playing with form and structure to admirable results. Let’s see more. Well done.

  3. Trying brings out heroes.. Was a time, I felt I could not do this to save my life, then I tried…was a time you were the prose queen then you tried…was a time Zikaolofin was afraid to tread the stars of blogosphere then she tried…To keep on living is to keep on trying…Thanks for this good sis….

  4. That line….’take yourself by surprise’, totally did me in! Absolutely nothing yet as fulfilling as blowing one’s ‘damn’ self away; besting oneself, each and everytime! Nicely scrawled ME, a morale-booster and the arrangement’s pretty chic and real playful! Wisdom multiplied! 👍😄
